What used to be called "Disaster recovery" is now called "Business continuity". I guess that's to put a more positive slant on it. In its defence, it does now encompass much more. The government are very keen to encourage it because a good business continuity plan will help recover from any terrorist attack or disaster.
According to BSI, BS25999 is the world’s first internationally recognized standard for Business Continuity Management (BCM). It includes requirements covering the whole BCM life cycle, based on BCM best practices. The standard has garnered much attention from businesses around the world. Thousands of companies in the United Kingdom are implementing BS25999 and It has become the most downloaded standard from the BSI website.
