Millions of ££££ wasted on cabling systems . . .

How are millions of pounds wasted by IT managers and facilities managers? They throw the limited budget away on cabling with a bandwidth they can't use. Having Cat6 cabling in place of Cat5e cabling is like turning a 2-lane motorway into a five-lane motorway but keeping 3 lanes coned off. No adopted networking standard uses the extra frequency range (those 3 extra lanes) that Cat6 gives you.

There's no doubt that, if installed properly, Cat6 is a superior cabling system and, if money is no object, then you should choose it. Wait another year or two and Cat6a will be ratified and you can have a cabling system that supports 10G Ethernet, or buy a Cat6a draft system today. But only do that if you foresee that one day the cabling will need to support 10G.

This valuable snippet of information ties in with Lynx Networks policy of not selling anything we don't believe a customer needs.
