Prediction 1: Cable prices are going to continue to fluctuate but mostly upwards as the manufacturers take advantage of copper prices and adverse exchange rates to up their prices. However, if copper prices go down and the dollar gets weaker they won't be quick to reduce the price of cable.
Prediction 2: Cat6A (augmented) won't be ratified so customers with a tight budget will continue to choose Cat5e cabling.
Prediction 3: It will be a tough year for the cabling industry but there won't be a recession.
Prediction 4: Users will embrace the benefits of 802.11N wireless networks and will start to have area of the offices covered by this remarkable technology. However, it will continue to be expensive throughout 2008 so uptake will be limited.
Happy new year.
